Color Pricing: One Size Does NOT Fit All!

The days have been over of "one price fits all" for hair services. Here's why we don't give custom creative color pricing quotes without a thorough consultation. 

At Hair Studio 71, we believe in creating beautiful, customized color that enhances your look while honoring the health of your hair. Some of the most common questions we receive is:

"How much will it cost to go blonde/pastel/vivid?" or "How much are highlights?" or "Can I get a quote of what it would cost to put blonde and some darker colors in my hair to make it dimensional?"

The honest answer? It depends.

This is why we don't offer set price quotes for custom color without a thorough, in-person consultation. We may offer, based on several questions asked, an "estimated" cost BUT again, this is a huge range that you may be offered over the phone or via messaging. 

We completely understand that you may not understand our lango or terminology that we use in the hair world. To be completely honest, we may even sound like minions to you when we start describing our techniques, color formulations, or tire out from being asked so many questions. We get it!

What is Custom Creative Color?

Anything outside of a "basic" color service. Basic color services include root colors (matching your root color to your natural or previously colored hair to cover grey or to blend with the rest of your hair at 1 inch of regrowth), Full all over color (one color all over), Root melt (More than 1 inch growth up to 3 inches of growth), All over gloss refresh/toner (Refresh color, faded tones, adding shine, or changing tones). Pricing still differs with basic colors. Here's why: Length of hair, density of hair, dimensional technique, or previous hair history which results in how much time is needed and how much product is used. 

Custom Creative Color includes:

• Dimensional color
• Vivid/pastel colors
• Blonding (highlighting)
• Platinum or High-light blonding
• Multi-dimensional colors, balayage, melting, or transformative color
• Full color corrections or major tone shifts

These services require expertise, advanced techniques, and a deep understanding of each guest's hair journey. No two heads of hair are the same--and neither are the paths we take to create your perfect color.

Why a Consultation is a Must

We need to see and feel your hair to assess:

1. Hair History --Previous color, box dye, bleach, or chemical services affect results.
2. Current Condition -- We evaluate texture, density, porosity, and integrity.
3. Your Hair Goals -- Your version of "cool blonde" or "dusty rose" might look very different from someone else's. We will clarify your vision so we can be on the same page and make a customized plan. 
4. Time & Process -- Some goals take one session, others require multiple visits to maintain hair health while moving towards your desired result.

Transparent Pricing for Your Unique Hair Plan

Our pricing ranges reflect our individualistic approach to your hair. This isn't a cookie-cutter service--it's a tailored journey.

For example:

• A guest with short but thick hair who wants high-impact, multi-step color placement may be charged similarly to someone with long but fine hair who's only getting a partial refresh. Why? because more product, more technique, and more time may be required, even on shorter hair. 

Please don't compare your pricing to someone else's.

Factors like previous color, hair thickness, length, condition, and the creative technique used, all influence the final price.
